SEO & AEO Expert

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly strategic and results-driven SEO & AEO Expert to play a role in accelerating Zaphyr’s own inbound growth and being the engine behind our clients’ SEO/AEO success. You will be responsible for developing and executing winning strategies that drive organic traffic, enhance brand authority, and secure valuable visibility in both traditional search results and AI-powered answer platforms. Your work will directly impact our internal metrics and our clients’ revenue, making you a pivotal player in our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and implement a holistic SEO and AEO strategy to increase organic traffic and brand authority.

  • Conduct comprehensive SEO and AEO audits to identify opportunities and create data-backed optimization roadmaps.

  • Perform ongoing keyword and prompt research, focusing on user intent, theme analysis, and expansion for both text-based and conversational queries.

  • Analyze and report on performance using tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console, and other third-party platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs).

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, search algorithm updates, and the evolving behaviors of AI large language models (LLMs).

Technical & On-Page Optimization

  • Provide SEO briefs and guidelines for blogs, landing pages, case studies, and gated assets.

  • Optimize titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and content structure for search and conversions.

  • Ensure content matches search intent, reduces bounce rate, and moves users toward demo/consultation actions.

  • Optimize website architecture, content, linking, and Core Web Vitals for improved crawling, indexing, and ranking.

  • Implement and manage technical SEO best practices, including site speed, mobile optimization, and XML sitemaps.

  • Expertly implement structured data and schema markup (e.g., FAQ, HowTo, Article, Product) to enhance AI readability and chances of appearing in featured snippets and AI answers.

Content & AEO Strategy

  • Guide the content strategy and collaborate with writers to produce answer-first, engaging content optimized for target keywords and AI summarization.

  • Optimize pages for Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), featured snippets, voice search, and other AI-powered answer environments.

  • Structure product, service, and landing pages with clear, factual summaries, FAQs, and comparison tables to serve as authoritative reference material for AI.

Authority Building & Outreach

  • Develop and execute white-hat link-building strategies to improve domain authority and topical relevance.

  • Build external authority through PR, thought leadership, and authentic participation in industry discussions and communities to strengthen brand signals that AI systems trust.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for both Zaphyr’s inbound channels and all client accounts. Core metrics include organic traffic, keyword rankings, featured snippet ownership, conversion rates, AI citation rates and iterate strategies to maximize visibility, overall ROI and pipeline impact in competitive B2B spaces.

  • Create and maintain clear, actionable performance dashboards and reports for clients, connecting SEO/AEO efforts directly to their business objectives.

  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and strategic recommendations for both internal stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an SEO Specialist with a strong portfolio of ranking and traffic results. Direct hands-on experience with AEO strategies is highly desired.

  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition.

  • Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog.

  • Understands basic UI/UX principles, knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript as they relate to SEO and how content management systems work.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO).

  • Familiarity with AI search platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) and an understanding of how they discover and cite content.

  • Google Analytics or Google Ads Certification.

  • Project management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working with B2B brands — ideally in B2B services, B2B SaaS, or e-commerce environments.
